Overview

At Ardence International Secondary School, our Cambridge Upper Secondary program, encompassing Years 10 and 11, prepares students for the globally recognised International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination. This crucial stage of education is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their academic pursuits and future careers. Our programme offers two distinct streams—Science and Commerce—each tailored to meet our students' diverse needs and interests.

What is Cambridge Upper Secondary?

Cambridge Upper Secondary is the second stage of secondary education within the Cambridge curriculum, typically covering students aged 15 to 17. It culminates in the IGCSE examination at the end of Year 11, a qualification recognised by universities and employers worldwide. The rigorous and broad programme allows students to explore subjects in depth while developing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a global perspective.

Students follow a full range of courses leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education examinations. These examinations are internationally recognized as the basis for further education and training.

The UK international assessments take place at the end of the Key Stage 4 course of study and can include written, oral, coursework, and practical assessments. This broadens opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning, particularly when their first language is not English. In many subjects there is a choice between core and extended curricula, making the International Examination Board suitable for a wide range of proficiency levels.
